I'll start with the positives. Friendly staff. Nice pub. Brilliant breakfast. Comfortable bed. Great location. Negatives. The decor and furnishings in the bedroom and the bathroom are very dated and tired. But to be fair if the owners were to refurbish the hotel, it'd cost millions and bed and breakfast would no longer be under £100 which is very rare nowadays

Cheap stop on the Wolf Way, safe storage inside for bikes.

Horrific. Will rip you off as soon as look At you. Totally ripped off a local persons wake whilst taking more than a weeks income over the bar. DO NOT TRUST OR VISIT THIS HOTEL

Robin was a fantastic host, he helped me and my family to fix our issues with our car. It was great from the moment I called to the moment we checked out. THANK YOU

I found myself at the hotel by default, overbooked in another hotel, so at the last minutes moved to The Swan Hotel. So far the worst hotel I have ever stayed. There was no reception when I got there, room keys was left on the table with an invoice (names misspelled). Absolutely everything in the room was dreadful, the room was leaking, no hot water running while it was -3 deg.C that night & snowing. The kettle in the room disgusting, never been cleaned for so long I guessed. The only fair thing in the room was the linen, very clean. I took video but decide not to post it with this comment.

A very very old building. Clean and well looked after. It's doubtful if theres a level surface or upright wall anywhere in this hotel.!! Absolutely amazing.. loved it. Full of little rooms and alcoves and beams.. Everyone turned up for breakfast at the same time.. which made the service slow, but that's a minor issue really. Will definitely use again.

Stay here if you love old places. The building dates from the 1st Elizabeth's reign and has all the wonky floors and crooked beams you could desire. Run by lovely people who are very helpful. Great breakfast properly cooked. Lots of coffee. One star had to be lost for the dated decoration in the rooms but the place is super clean and the beds very comfortable. We had a huge room for 4 with bathroom (again old but they will get to it. If you stay here it will help them sustain this glorious building!) and views of the quirky main street of Harleston. I had never heard of the town before I went, but I would love to go back. Sadly the towns we visited in Norfolk were spoiled by anti social behaviour from the useless few. But I'm sure the local people dislike that as much as you do. PS sorry we were noisy on Saturday but what with Liverpool winning the cup and France giving the UK douze points I couldn't hold it in....

No longer a pub with beer or food just a few very old rooms that are are at the end of life. Water pressure is low the toilets are hard to clear as may guests have found. Why you would have a second hand shop in a pub I have no idea. Sad that the place has fallen on such hard times.

Not the best decor (in need of renovation!) but the warm and friendly staff more than made up for it!

The the place is very old and has a certain character to it. Breakfast was OK and my room was also fine. However, the loo struggled to flush and the water pressure in the shower was none existent. If I was in the area again I'd try other places first.

Our first reaction was a really nice hotel room, but the wonky staircase upto 2nd floor bedroom was a killer. The shower was a trickle that took 5minutes to warm up. The toilet cistern didn't always work. Poor electrics provision in the room. I didn't enjoy the Full English breakfast, way overcooked, but did enjoy the Continental the following day. Nearly forgot, the bed was so awful, like a soft marshmallow on top of Zebedee's head, so awful, that I gave up and slept on the floor!!!

Nice people, old building, bar restaurant were closed like many places due to staff shortages, room was pleasant but warm due to ability of building to contain heat from the sun, shower was very weak and toilet had difficulty disposing of contents - wasn't just ours we were with friends and they had the same issues. They lost our booking so ensure that you check before travel.

It’s August and 23 degrees outside and the heating was on in the room making it unbearable, and the bathroom was filthy dirty floors with hair all over them ,bearing in mind we are in the middle of a pandemic. Don’t waste your money book elsewhere.

Very dated which I don't mind as this brings character! We booked a family room, during our stay we decided to sit in the seating area outside, at 8:45pm we where asked to tell the children to be quite because of other guests! Baring in mind our party had 5 rooms booked, not sure what adult goes to bed at 8:45, being considerate to others we asked them to calm down, on returning to our room the noise from the high street was outrageous! The walls are like paper making it impossible to get the children to sleep! Super over priced! £180 for 2 nights 😳 after staying you would have to pay me to stay there! The bathroom was disgusting, Not to mention the radiator that doesn't turn off in the bathroom so the room was uncomfortably hot. Definitely not family friendly! Stay clear don't waste your money it's a dump!!

Stayed there for 3 nights as a little break for my partners birthday. The lady who greeted us was lovely and helpful. Was amazed by the history of the hotel and the interior and on the funny side it looked a bit like a scene from The Shining! Sadly, we had no much sleep. The noise from the street was too much and the walls are so so thin we could hear the couple next room talking. We heard everything even with the tv on! Rooms, or the one we stayed No7 definately needs some attention!! The left window is broken. We struggled to lift it down so we can get some sleep ( it did not happen). We were scared it might break even more! Lastly, as a coffee person, coffee its the first think I have in the morning. We were provided with coffee, sugar and milk which was lovely. Although, the kettle was disgusting!! Could not make a coffee all the days we were there. I did not have a pen and paper to leave a note on it but left it open one day so the person who cleans etc could see it! But we came back to only find it closed and back where it was! Disappointed.

Quirky Hotel with its wavy floors and old styling inside. Host was very pleasant. Rooms and ensuite were clean and tidy but could do with a slight modernisation. Showers are not great little to no pressure and hot water was hit and miss. Bar and restaurant isn't always open only on select nights

Very welcoming and friendly. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was superb, so tasty and more than accommodating. Problems we found, toilet didn't flush very well and the shower was awful. Felt like trying to have a shower under a slow tap. (Room 12) Needs a bit of updating bathroom wise but other than that a pleasant stay.

Booked a double bed and got two singles. Enormous amount of noise from the road and pavements outside and the old window frames let it in. Heating system makes an unbearable noise. Next to no sleep. Pass it by.
